This was Spring.

A few weeks ago, I came across another photographers work. As I flipped through the slides on his website, I had a sinking feeling.

“Look how good his work is.”

“I need to change my style…”

“Why didn’t I get that shoot?”

Self doubt crept in my heart like a kudzu vine. It stuck around for a few days, too.

But then I spent a little time thinking and reflecting on this past spring. This was singularly one of the busiest few months I have ever had. I don’t know why…but I don’t take any of it for granted.

I was looking through the past months of work searching for an image to send to a client and came across the bonanza that was this season (some seen here), and I stopped myself. This is me. This is MY work. And I love it.

I love so much about this job I have…the people I meet, the friends I get to document, the businesses I get to highlight. This spring was so amazing. Weddings…families…schools…clothing lines…new friends and old friends. I am just still spinning in all of it.

So the lesson I learned…None of us can change how we see the world. Each photo is made from the landscape of my heart. I bring a piece of myself with me every single time I take a photo. Sometimes you can see it. Sometimes you can’t. But I know when it’s there.

And that’s all that matters.

I hope you enjoy this set of photos!
